APS Parent Involvement

Smith Elementary

Arnold CLC

Smith Elementary School   Arnold CLC

The evidence is very clear. Family involvement strengthens student learning and improves academic achievement. When families are actively involved, students have better attendance, pass more classes, have higher test scores, are more likely to continue their education beyond high school, and learn social and behavioral skills that help them at home, at school and throughout life.

Parents are an important part of their school's Title I team. Title I encourages parents to be active participants in the program by:

  • Learning about their child's local Title I program
  • Taking advantage of the opportunities for parent involvement and training Title I has to offer
  • Participating in regular, two-way and meaningful communication with their child's school
